In Honor of a 1977 Trans Am with the Flaming Chicken.

I present to you. The Night Pigeon Project. Take a $299 T-Sauce (Tisas SDS) that was hand Demel by yours truly. Put Night Hawk parts in it and see if it runs better.

back story: I bought a used Night Hawk T3 for a cheap prices. It came with like 9 NH mags and all function perfectly. It also came with a gut load of parts. I know the old owners reputation for the best of the best, and he had NH do lot of work to it. Well, they left the old parts and I don’t like to waste.

Control will be a unfired untouch WW1 A1 Service Pistol! so we can see if I did better.

ammo will be the same as the 1911 shot out for a reference

200gn Speer Coated SWC
WST 5.0gn - 4.8gn - 4.6gn
1.195 to 1.200
7 yards, shot at an angle 📐

I’ll also load some FMJRN 230gn with 4.7gn of WST for a moderate speed of 800fps

Wish Me Luck! I’ll do the part swap at 4am

So… Final Conclusion of the Project.

The Factory Tiasa SDS, unmodified, As Is, shot as good or better than messing with the gun.

Note: to bubba Gun Smith with a Deluxe Dremel that their person bought for them. It don’t make it better…

But… What if I put those NH parts in the factory gun???? Night Fish 🐠 project??? maybe!!

My Tisas's shoot great, when they shoot. The issue with the three I have is, they just don't shoot reliably as they come (and to be fair, like a lot of 1911's) and do need help to get them to do so. Or at least mine (just basic guns) have.

I think with them, as with most 1911's, if you address a few basic things, the 45 versions will be decent working guns. Im not sold on their 9mm versions though. Id like to see how they would do if they switch the ramped barrels back to the original design.

Am gonna be that guy....
But, how does an extractor, thumb safety and a few springs make the gun more accurate?
