Trying to make a long story short, I'm setting up my Savage 93 .22WMR for Coyote. Took off my scope and 2pc mount, put on a picatinny rail, topped with a Sightmark Wraith 4k Mini. I plan on POSSIBLY adding a 2" piece of picatinny to the forend so that I can mount the IR lower on the stock, if the regular spot washes out the camera.

MY QUESTION IS: As of now, I'm leaning towards a Harris bipod. I know they're good quality, and I can get one to mount to my sling swivel stud, and it will tilt as well as up and down. Are there any other recommendations on SOLID, QUALITY bipods that would attach to my sling swivel stud? I have one I bought decades ago that I have on a Rem. 788 in 6mmRem. But this rifle needs something new. Thanks in advance!

I have a Harris bipod on one of my RARs. I like it, but ... It's either on this notch or that notch, no in-between. I am beginning to think maybe I should look for something with a little finer adjustment to it. YMMV.

Have been running Harris since 76 IIRC.
Leg notch (LM Models)
Use mine on a bench, or prone.
Next one will be swivel version.

USA made, I'll stick with the original :)

I like the Atlas bipod better, but my buddy Jeff hates them, loves his Harris
I like the Atlas better also.

I also prefer the tension lock legs.
My favorite harris type is actually a cheap knock of that has twist locks like my Javelin does.

I have Harris and knock off bipods. I do like the twist lock adjustments on the knockoff bipods.

Have a look at the Leapers UTG 360 bipod. I have one for my Savage 93, along with extra adapters for my other rifles. It’s very stable and affordable. Available on Amazon, roughly 90 dollars.

The Harris BRM-S has notched legs and swivels for cant compensation - the foot springs push the legs longer, but only if firing from fully closed. The BR-S has smooth legs which allow infinite adjustment along their length - the legs are sprung to retract when unlocked.

A BRM-S would be difficult to use with that small Protektor rear bag pictured, unless you had a lot of doughnuts of varying heights to accommodate half notch increments. That bag is too short to have the mobility to make up for the height between the notches.

In general, I like Harris bipods more than Atlas for PRS type shooting. For bench or prone shooting, a big Atlas CAL is a great option, or a Sinclair skipod - or Accutac WB4 on skis. I tend to favor Harris BR-S’s, smooth legs, but my son uses notched leg BRM-S’s on his rifle.

Since this will be a Coyote rifle, and we’re already kinda upside down on economics, you should take a look at an MDT Ckye Pod Triple Pull. These can go from LOW prone shooting to sitting, and a LOT in between.

BUT…

FAR more often, I much prefer to call coyotes from a tripod. I like Leofoto tripods, have 3 of them of different sizes and number of leg sections for different uses. More height for sitting, kneeling, or even standing shooting when making coyote stands.

Wow! Lots of GREAT info to look up... Thanks! But, as I often do, I forgot to add one little thing... I'm guessing because I didn't say it in the beginning, none of these include the one little thing I'm ALSO looking for in a bipod...
DO THEY MAKE A BIPOD WITH A SMALL BIT OF PICATINNY ON IT TO ADD A SPOT TO ATTACH AN IR LIGHT? I just bought a piece of picatinny to mount on my Savage 93, but it will fit either my Scope and Extra Battery Pak, or Scope and IR light, but NOT ALL 3. I'd really love to find a bipod with just a notch or two of picatinny to attach the IR light.... Is that something that EXISTS? Or do I need to screw a bit of picatinny into my stock somewhere....
