= $95 = Viridian Serac 6-24x50 (30mm tube) - Natchez Tax Refund Sale

Bought one at $94 that came yesterday. Already ordered a second when it dropped to $82 two days ago. First impression, I like the reticle but I'm not impressed by lens clarity at anything over 16, either at twilight last night nor in bright morning daylight. Truthfully clarity looks just like the cheap 2nd hand Centerpoint I bought a month ago at the pawn shop for $40. Almost regret buying these, but I suppose they're sellable locally if neither is acceptable. If the next one looks better I'll return the first.

@Spats McGee - did your smith install the 30moa rail originally? If you installed it, did they not mention that the rail was simply on backwards when you went back for the flat rail?
Yes he did. And it’s disappointing that he had it on backwards. He’s a local shop, 2nd generation gunsmith, etc., someone I want to do business with.

Nah, I wouldn’t mind that it was on backwards - simple mistake, sometimes our mind wanders during mindless jobs like installing 4 screws of a scope rail and our fingers work faster than our brain.

The disappointing part for me is that when you returned with comment that you ran out of elevation and couldn’t zero, that he ordered a different rail instead of just mentioning “no wonder you can’t, the rail is on backwards! Sorry for that mix up - gimme 5min I’ll flip that around and get it boresighted back, you’ll be good to go.”

In fairness, he did not order a new rail. He put the original back on. And he did not charge me for that.

Everyone makes a mistake here and there, no reason to dump him, he’ll be embarrassed, and be extra careful with your stuff from now on. 😉
