I keep one on each key ring so I always have one with me.

    S&W key replacement

The lock has never bothered me. But now that S&W can't supply extra keys, that bothers me. :fire:

How do I tighten loading gate on Uberti 1873?

OK, I guess it can be said 19th Century gun designers did a lot of screwing around with their inventions.

How do I tighten loading gate on Uberti 1873?

I believe the Colt SAA Model P has 14 screws holding it together or part of its functioning; this includes the very tiny loading gate screw.

    S&W key replacement

Call S&W again. Sometimes the "wrong" or "lazy" or "ignorant" person is on the phone.

    S&W 686 trigger/hammer issue?

Revolvers need virtually no lubrication to work properly. A tiny bit of Rem Oil occasionally is all that's needed. And what's nice about Rem Oil is that it is so "watery" that a few drops into the insides, without removing the side plate, gets the job done. (Modern autos like the Glocks also...

Gen 1 Colt SAA $1250 - A parts gun? looks FUN

Guess it's a true shootin' "iron" with emphasis on iron, soft and maleable parts.

    S&W 686 trigger/hammer issue?

S&W usually ships revolvers "dry." or nearly so. That's a puzzlement.

    Picked up a 19-5 today!

Always preferred the -5 as the recessed chambers were dropped, a totally unnecessary feature that only collected grime. Also, I preffered the smooth trigger that was introduced as standard.

    S&W 686 trigger/hammer issue?

Curious as to whether those 686s were new production guns with MIM hammers, triggers. Where were the ''lots of'' tool marks. Polishing compound, never seen that before.

    S&W 686 trigger/hammer issue?

Send it to S&W. In the meantime, your GP100 will serve you well.

    Why Own a Snubby?

I like snubbies but sometimes I wonder really is that shorter barrel all that beneficial for carry, meaning a 2.5 or 3-inch model vs a 4-inch light barreled model such as the Model 15 or Model 66 with round butt or especially the old Model 10 with standard (pencil) barrel. In fact I wish S&W...

    Used Revolvers from S&W

I know all the arguments against the new S&W production guns but it's interesting that probably among S&W's best sellers are the 686s Plus with 2.5 and 3-inch barrels. Realistically, that is the answer to having missed the blued 3-incher and you get an extra round. I currently have a...

I think it was writer Charlie Askins who said a few cylinders full a day or so is enough to stay sharp.

    Colt is releasing more 'memberberries.

If Colt's efforts continue to bolster the revolver market, I'm all for it. Take that you plastic loving, bottom feeder soulless reprobates. :neener:

They Don't Call it a Masterpiece for No Reason...

Photo from a TV show. And before the Combat Masterpiece/Model 15, the Model 14 ws in use: When the LAPD switched to the 4-inch Model 15, reportedly a number of 14s were chopped to 4-inch from the standard 6-inch that had been in use.

They Don't Call it a Masterpiece for No Reason...

Knew a Chicago suburban LEO back in the day who also was a dealer. He told me all the guys were trying to sell their Models 15s and 19s so they could buy Beretta 92s and Sig 226s.

They Don't Call it a Masterpiece for No Reason...

I know, this picture has been posed many, many times (with fingers on triggers, the old days) but here it is again: The LAPD Combat Masterpieces were double action only as a safety precaution.

Many times on this forum I have stated the CM is my all time favorite handgun. If I could only have one handgun, that would be it. That's nearly true as I sell other firearms I just don't need or use. The CM remains; actually several of them. ;)

    Are 44 Revolvers Dying?

.44s dying? Nope. They already have. :) Dedicated 9mm/.38 Special shooter. :) Definition of a wimp: Me and 89.7 percent of all handgun shooters. Statistic verified by acounting firm Dewey, Cheatem & Howe (no relation to Johnny Carson's legal firm). :) Seriously, the 44s are, I think...
