    Photo/hunting safari Africa

In my 56 years of marriage I have found that pandering to your wife's wishes is the best course to take. However, I would still do it in a "hunting country", not Kenya, so that you could possibly hunt a couple of animals especially if the guide (and NOT you) suggests it. Women tend to listen to...

    No RESIDENT NV Tags Again

I'm 80 and still hunt, however, not everyone is as lucky as me. Auto crashes and other accidents when you're young come back to haunt you when you're old. And there are debilitating diseases that knock you down too. Two months ago my dry macular degeneration 'graduated' up to the wet form which...

Small Game Hunting With Centerfire Cartridges

Do nail gun cartridges use black powder? Are they corrosive like .22 blank acorn caps?

    No RESIDENT NV Tags Again

I feel sorry for you. Does Nevada allow you tags for your own property if it's large enough or doesn't private land get one any privileges over public land?

Hunting Hogs! In Texas looking for advice!

I've killed about 22-25 hogs (I never kept track) but I always hated to clean the non-stinky ones because they were so hard to skin. However, of the hogs I've cleaned (butchered), only one had any fat at all and that was a chubby gilt that had about 1/6th the fat that this video shows. I still...

Heading to WY.. drew our cow tags

I always preferred hunting in Wyoming compared to the surrounding states. Back then if you drew a tag, you would most-likely get what you were after. I never struck out in Wyoming when I had a tag in my pocket. That included deer, antelope, elk, and moose. Good luck on your hunt.

How do you carry a sidearm while hunting?

I carry a sidearm in a crossdraw holster on my weak side. Otherwise, the rifle, bow, or crossbow hit against it when walking especially with a rifle slung on my shoulder. It works well too when riding a horse out west. When pistol hunting I also carry it this way. That way it doesn't jab me...

    Pietta Shooter's Model stripped threads

If the simple things don't work, Jackrabbit's suggestion is definitely the answer. I over-torqued a spark plug in an aluminum head. A larger tap and spark plug worked like a charm.

Small Game Hunting With Centerfire Cartridges

I've shot blue grouse with a .38 Colt Detective Special and killed a cottontail with a Ruger Old Army ..... But this is all you really need for small game: Ruger Standard .22

Trapping Coyotes On Property That Has Wild Hogs

If no bears are bothering your feeders, you are extremely lucky. The only way I can keep them from destroying my feeders is to put a 5 gallon feeder on a cable suspended between 2 trees or tall posts. However, they still come in, eat all the corn on the ground, and keep any deer from coming in.

    Big fat beaver

A bikini?? It wouldn't warm up much up there in that cold water.

    Big fat beaver

I killed this one with a shotgun while duck hunting in a swamp. I was straddling a submerged beaver run when he swam through my legs. He scared the snot out of me. He weighed just short of 50 lbs. The cleaned skull shows the orange teeth.

Bad News for Deer Hunters: CWD in 2 Men

But releasing irradiated screw worm males that were impotent is what eliminated the screw worm from Florida in the '50s. Before that thousands of calves were lost due to screw worms annually. Until the 1950s Florida had open range ... no fences. Travelers on the roads were expected to yield to...

Bad News for Deer Hunters: CWD in 2 Men

We have one county bordering Alabama where a road-killed deer had it. The county I hunt in is 4 counties away so I'm worried about the future.

    Twist on a .45 T/C Patriot?

Thanks. I tried to measure it but a relatively short 7 1/2" barrel led to several readings depending on how tight the patch was. I'm going to try to shoot a deer with it this year if my 80 y.o. eyes will work a little longer.

    Twist on a .45 T/C Patriot?

I've had a Patriot for about 15 years but never hunted with it. Just for kicks I loaded a 200 grain R.E.A.L. in front of 30 gr. of 3F black powder. I fired at 22 yards from a rest and the cast REAL formed a perfect hole about 3 1/2 inches high. The recoil was moderate but I will experiment with...
