Have you purchased anything gun related in the last three days?

Got a Leupold Picatinny rail for my Kimber Hunter. It's great for mounting a small LW compact scope.

    Why Own a Snubby?

The chances of violent crimes conducted with moderate to larger capacity firearms or firearms at all are so slight here that the statistical need for anything but a small effective handgun are so slim as to be negligible. In Las Vegas the chances of a protracted violent firearms incident are...

    Why Own a Snubby?

Absolutely false... We don't have car jackings and gang crimes on the street. This has everything to do with the nature and frequency of the crimes and the needs of the concealed carrier. We have completely different demographics. Here a Chief's Special AW or an LCP will handle the potential...

    Are 44 Revolvers Dying?

    Are 44 Revolvers Dying?

I don't see much if anything in 44 magnum that's tacticool enough for the new generation of shooters, no gazillion round mags, no forest of Picatinny rails, no "platforms" for it. Meanwhile, I'll keep carrying my 2.5" barrel revolver 44 Magnum on outings in black bear and cougar country.

    No RESIDENT NV Tags Again

I made a giant mistake, well two, actually. We in better times owned a house in Libby MT, and until five years ago I had a small funny crooked house in a great location in Bayview ID. It took me six minutes to get out my door and onto my boat, moored at the marina on a 28 mile long 1,150' deep...

    No RESIDENT NV Tags Again

The irony of the outfitter tags is Nevada Residents are excluded. They're only for wealthy out-of-staters. :fire:

Looked at the New Ruger American II YUCK!

Great suggestion regarding "Make an American hunter"! I'd take a garden variety blind magazine for a Hunter version.

    No RESIDENT NV Tags Again

I'm almost tempted, but if caught I would have my truck and gear confiscated to include my rifle. We had fewer that 200,000 people in NV when I was a kid starting out hunting. Deer tags were OTC for buck tags, and there were doe tags available, sometimes even a late season doe tag to thin the...

    No RESIDENT NV Tags Again

It does only if you can show depredation problems, which is uncommon.

    Inexpensive O/U

Valmet 412...They're around for $800-$900 and are sturdy guns. These are quality shotguns that will give you a lot of service, made in Finland with excellent steel. https://www.gunbroker.com/item/1048125020...

    No RESIDENT NV Tags Again

For five years now I have not drawn any big game tag in my native State of Nevada. As a 76 y/o native I've had it. I spent $180.00 for resident application fees again, and zip. I can no longer travel 1/2 way across the country to a more hunter friendly state, nor can I afford the out of state...

Looked at the New Ruger American II YUCK!

Mine have the balance point at the floor plate area and carry well...horizontal. Much of the terrain where I hunt is so rough and vertical that an easy horizontal balance point is advantageous. We mostly still-hunt and are constantly moving a little and watching a little, all day long, so using...

Close together hammer spurs on a double

Some of my old hammer guns are easy to cock, and some need a come-along and anchor point. :p My American Gun Company has me using a lot of effort to cock just one hammer.:uhoh:

Looked at the New Ruger American II YUCK!

Full agreement on the first generation American Predator punching higher than it's weight class. I have one in 22-250 that is amazingly accurate and is a joy to carry. Ruger can sell their new morphadite to the new shooters, and the best of luck to Ruger, an American Gun Company I'll always...

Close together hammer spurs on a double

IMO it's good and bad. Good: The hammers are close enough to cock both together. Bad: Cocking both hammers at the same time is hard to do with one thumb...double the difficulty to pull them back.

Looked at the New Ruger American II YUCK!

Loon, Look at any seasoned blue & walnut hunting rifle and the heaviest wear you see is in the floor plate bluing. With all the industry appealing to the tacti-cool shooters, they've sure screwed up what could be ergonomic rifles for hard carry. I'm all for servicing every segment of the...
