    Why Own a Snubby?

If you say so. I've been shooting for over 60 years. I don't need to ask anybody anything. I don't even know what split times are. I don't shoot paper if it's got anything to do with that. I don't practice defensive shooting. I just shoot for fun. I carry because I "might" need it. Not because...

    Why Own a Snubby?

I don't watch videos where somebody tells me why I should carry one gun over another. I don't buy gun rags for the same reason and I don't give a dead rats furry butt what people on an internet forum tell me I should or shouldn't do. I carry a S&W 637 with no reloads. I won't own a DA only or a...

Do you guys mount your own scopes?

I've been doing my own for over 50 years with no special tools. I bore sight bolt actions by removing the bolt and looking down the bore. Anything else I just start from scratch.

    Good starting load.

My standard load is 90 grains. It shoots a little high at 25 yards.

    Good starting load.

My 54 shoots about 4 inches low at 25 yards with 40 grains.

    Date of Manufacture

Looks like I was mistaken. They changed over in 2019. I would have sworn it was 2015. I guess that's what I get for relying on memory.

    Date of Manufacture

I had a Uberti dragoon made in 2013 with the letters on the frame as usual but they put the date under the trigger guard. I'm not sure what they did in 2014 but I'm pretty sure it was all numerical in 2015. I'm not sure when Pietta started doing it but it was around the same time period.

    Date of Manufacture

Yes 2021. They fully changed from letters to actual dates in 2015 IIRC.

    Pietta Shooter's Model stripped threads

Yeah but going through the mouth of a chamber and getting it started would be a PITA let alone getting it started straight.

    Beaded knife sheath

Nah I'm done with knife making.

    Sounds like a PITA.

    Beaded knife sheath

Yeah the sheath really needs a better knife. That's the first knife I ever made and the first time I hafted one with antler and I really didn't know what I was doing with either one but it works well for it's purpose. I have gotten better with hafting. 😁

How is he going to be able to angle a screw from the mouth of the chamber?

    Pietta Shooter's Model stripped threads

Not only that but if you overtighten grips they can split.

    Pietta Shooter's Model stripped threads

It might. It's worth a try. If it will tighten down tight it will be good to go but just snugging it up with weak threads is a no go.

Thanks. I tried to post it on the Colt forum but it wouldn't accept pics.

    Beaded knife sheath

I've been looking for accessories to go with my flintlock and came across this beaded neck knife sheath at a reasonable price. It beats the hell out of the homemade sheath I've been using. The knife is the first one I ever made and didn't really know what I was doing but it's a great patch...
