How to initially choose a powder when starting out?

I discovered that when I first started reloading. That's how I ended up buy 16lbs of HP-38 instead of W231

    M&P 40c

The Apex Tactical D/C (Duty/Carry) action parts are a good investment if you want to keep the factory trigger weight and just want something smoother. The big difference is how they recontoured and polished the striker block. The nice thing about the M&P40 is that it has less felt recoil than...

    American Reloading

Mine came in today and they were nicely packaged in a cardboard box with just a layer of packing tape sealing the ends Wow you're right. I stacked mine next to a Federal 1k primer box and it is neither as wide or a tall at the Federal packaging...I'm guessing about 60% the volume of the...

How to initially choose a powder when starting out?

But how would a later reader know that...since "BE" isn't in common usage for Bullseye? It is confusing when shortening the name of a powder with a designation that is part of another powder's name...especially when it isn't a common contraction. When seeing "BE" in a discussion of powder, a...

= Verified with PV/Alliant customer service = Alliant to suspend canister powders significantly - Time for comparable powder substitutions again

Can we keep this thread focused on canister powder and not derail it with discussion of primers. Please start another thread for that discussion

    Springfield Armory's SA16-A2

It seems that this discussion is just going around in circles...and swirling around the drain. I think we've had enough for later readers to get a sense of where this is going and the validity or lack thereof of the OP...so it's time to put it to bed

How to initially choose a powder when starting out?

I think one of the greatest mistakes new reloaders make is picking a powder based on cost...either price per pound or the amount needed per loads...especially with pistol powders. What I look for, in descending order, is: 1. Versatility and operating window...the ability to be used in several...

An unusual reloading setup? Single stage for sizing/decapping, RCBS Auto Prime, Dillon 5 stage to finish

You left out the Mark 7 Apex-10...which is very comparable in price to the Dillon, but a much nicer (engineered) machine While you can get caliber conversion kits for the 10-station (Mark 7 and FA) and the 8-station (Dillon), they really aren't designed to be easily converted over between...

An unusual reloading setup? Single stage for sizing/decapping, RCBS Auto Prime, Dillon 5 stage to finish

I ended up with two when I converted my ACP to a APP Deluxe. I have them mounted on Inline Fabrication Quick Change plates and just loosen two wing nuts and switch presses The above is the process I use for reloading .38Spl on my Hornady LNL AP

    American Reloading

I hate the way they use tape...I was hoping they had improved their practice. The last time I ordered from they, they taped the two 5k boxes of Ginex SPP together. Cutting them apart without cutting into the boxes was very irritating ...they are packed in 100-ct sleeves inside the boxes

I'd also like to see a link to this announcement There is a current shortage of nitrocellulose. The worlds main sources of are Russia and the PRC. Russia isn't exporting any as they are using it up for their military. The PRC is restricting export

    help picking a press

I've helped a couple of friends set up their Hornady LNL presses. Things I always recommend to improve your experience: 1. Inline Fabrication: Ultra Mount and Ergo Handle (Short)...I've also added other IF accessories, but they can wait 2. KMS (squared): UFO Reloading Press Light system 3...

    Gravity Chambering

You're not the only one. I've never heard of any of these either That sort of threw me also. But I did re-read it and the description immediately follows the use of the term. What throws a casual reader off is the lack of punctuation after "rule"...also the uncommon usage of "Loading Path"
