Security 380 - ?

I got one about eight months ago, got close to a thousand rounds through it. I love it. Shoots soft and eats everything I’ve tried so far. I carry mine occasionally OWB on an Urban Carry lock leather holster, conceals pretty well. Pick one up, I think you’ll like it.

My wife and I own both the S&W 380 EZ and Ruger Security 380.

My wife bought a 380-EZ after having extensive hand surgery. The 380-EZ was a feeding nightmare for three years until S&W replaced the barrel (and mag springs, and mags, and ...). I bought a Ruger Security 380 so I could carry something my wife could also operate while she was sorting out -and wasn't carrying- her 380-EZ.

My expectation was that the chunky S-380 would be more difficult to conceal. Wrong! The S-380 is actually not as wide or as long as the 380-EZ. The S-380's 15-round magazine conceals as easily for me as the 10-round one with pinkie extension and provides nearly twice the capacity of the 380-EZ. Very much to my surprise, the 10-round magazine with flat baseplate proved to be very easy to shoot. The fiber-optic front sight, which I did not think I would like, has turned out to be great. Besides being a pleasure to carry and shoot, the S-380 has been totally reliable.

Thank you for your message
First - I hope your wife is recovering well
…….. your message is very helpful
………my SW EZ 380 and the my SW EZ 9 have been reliable and accurate- also a pleasure to shoot -
……….living in Florida- not printing is not easy - achievable but not a major issue
……….capacity is a the issue for me - or - perceived issue - ever time I watch the evening news - just being honest
I do love my Snubby revolver- so why the capacity concern- I donot know
If quality revolvers did not cost so much and I did not shoot my SW EZ 380 & 9 far superior - I personally would carry two Snubbys
………I am surprised that the marketing for this firearm is poor

I think I have gone down the rabbit whole

Thank you

Actually my carry gun this weekend
I purchased mine through KYGUNCO a few months back at a crazy good deal ..
after my first range day .. I order a few extra 15rd mags .
I have used mostly FNFMJ .. and a few mags of Hornady FTX and Hornady XTP .. for function testing…
Mine runs great …no stoppages

Basically its the size of a 26 .. with a better grip ..
Light 19 oz .. I like the trigger … low recoil..
Fast and accurate follow up shots .. I have actually tried to limp wrist it ..I couldn’t force a stoppage…
Easy to work the slide ..
Last night I ordered a +10 RSA from Galloway.. to reduce the recoil more …

I highly recommend this pistol… I probably have sold 20-25 through personal recommendations..

Its not only for old people or women… its for anyone that wants a very shootable sub-compact that is inexpensive and dependable
