Mine is a leg notch and swivels. Like it.

    The big N Frames

In the late 80s I was working in Houston on the set of Robo Cop 2 and the production company used off duty city cops for security. I got to be pretty good friends with one of them who was the quintessential, old school flat foot COP! Late 50s, 6'4", 250# who the prudent would not fool with. He...

    Favorite K & N frame Subnose Grips?

Those are placemats. I don't live at the end of the earth but I can see it from here. Off the back porch at sunrise in the Chihuahuan desert.

    ammo interchangeability

What 1KPerDay said. Factory Schofield ammo is worth a lot more that 45 Colt. It will work in your pistol though.

    Help me diagnose an issue

If it’s new, call Taurus. If not, I’d put Dyekm or marks-a-lot on the recoil shield and shoot until it malfus. See if the shield is flat and square with the cylinder. If that looks good the problem is internal, maybe ammo. I’m more familiar with Smiths, but I bet there’s a youtube.

    Zanotti safe? Good/bad?

I’m in the process of selling my home and the probable buyer came by for another look. He asked if I want to sell my 25 year old Amsec safe along with the house. I hadn’t really thought about leaving it but on reflection it’s not a bad idea. The safe is in a tight spot and will be hard for the...

I have no idea where people even shoot anymore.

If the only thing preventing the OP to move to a rural area is fast internet , there has been for many years grants that telephone companies can and do get to improve communications in "underserved" areas. I live 90 miles from a grocery store and 4 miles off a paved road yet I have a fiber optic...

Looking for a bore guide for a Marlin 925

" "VERSATILE: Three muzzle guides are included (small fits most calibers .17-.24, medium fits most calibers .25-.30, and large fits most calibers over .30) use the guide that corresponds to your barrel best. Designed to fit most rifles, but is not compatible with all" The above quote is in the ad.

I just picked up a Smith and Wesson 357 cant find model number looking for any information

jcdmgiles, I hope you don't feel we're piling on. It's just that given the times we live in, this is the kind of thing that could put a good person in prison. I hope you can get this resolved without losing any money. I also truly hope you stay around; this is really a pretty easy going and...

I just picked up a Smith and Wesson 357 cant find model number looking for any information

The Feds coming is somewhat unlikely. What I would worry about is being pulled over for a traffic violation and somehow the pistol being examined by the officer. A pistol without a serial number will get you cuffed and stuffed even in gun friendly states. Best thing the OP can do is try to get...

Surprising and funny things that happened while hunting

My niece spent many hours of her childhood in deer blinds with her dad. She is now a 35 year old women with two children. Anyway, when she turned 13 it was decided it was time for her to get her first deer. She, her dad and I were in a blind and along came a fat doe about 60/70 yard away. She...

I just picked up a Smith and Wesson 357 cant find model number looking for any information

Again, the numbers on the SIDE of the grip frame are NOT serial numbers. They are numbers used in house by S&W while the gun is being made. The actual serial number is on the BOTTOM of the frame. A gun with a altered or obliterated serial number is a serious problem. But you do you.
