I have a Gazelle 410 O/U that is made in Turkey. It is a nice gun for $500 for the casual shooter. I would not expect it to hold up to several rounds of skeet/clays every month all year round.
I haven't really shot any serious skeet in a long time and used my Mossberg 500 in 410 when I did. The...
My Odin Works 18" with adjustable gas block (never adjusted) ejects all the cases in a nice neat pile at 3:30 - 4:00 and about 4 foot away from me. I don't have to search very hard for my empty cases.
Good to hear you like the pistol and good shooting.
I feel that everyone should shoot their pistols occasionally at 50 to 100 yards just so they know the capabilities of their pistol and test their own skills. I always take some clay birds with me to practice shooting my centerfire and rimfire...
@FL-NC, my experiences echo yours. I was issued the 1911A1 and M9. After reclassifying to 44E Machinist, I worked hand in hand with unit armorers to fix what they couldn't. I had to fix similar issues as you did.
I was a combat engineer for the first few years I was in and spent most of that...
That was one of the biggest complaints when we switched from the 1911A1 to the M9. My unit didn't get the M9 until late 1992 or early 1993 while stationed in Germany with the 1st Armored Division. Of course engineer battalions are usually some of the last units to get updated equipment. We had...
I would try different ammo and bullet weights before I worried about recrowning the barrel. I would probably replace the Anderson barrel before redoing the crown on it if it was me.
Or that one is disabled and can't handle shooting a 12 gauge. My wife is one. She is pretty short and has MS, there is no way she can comfortably shoot a 12 gauge. She use to use a youth 20 gauge until she was diagnosed with MS, but the 20 is out too.
As mentioned , I did a bunch of testing with 3" 410 buckshot loads. They will work just fine for personal/home defense. Depending on the manufacturers, the 5 pellets from a 3" 410 buckshot load are still traveling at the same fps as 9 pellets out of a 2 3/4"12 gauge buckshot load. And one won't...
The Savage rifles come with Weaver style bases. You have two choices when it comes to a one piece picatinny rail; EGW or DIP.
EGW offers 0 MOA or 20 MOA bases: https://egwguns.com/scope-mounts-rings/standard-rifle-scope-mounts/savage/?model=637
DIP Inc offers 0 MOA or 25 MOA bases...
I have stuck with Savage MkII rifles with their heavy Varmint profile barrels since they all shoot well for me and I don't compete. Yes the CZ and other more expensive rifles are more refined/finished and are generally more suited for completion use.
Go with what fits your budget and your...
